A little girl falls through a time crack into the legendary Lemuria where she meets the “Dreamer of Lemuria” who later visits her in the modern world borrowing the body of a Hells Angel Rocker who, in his differentness and ancient wisdom, creates utter chaos and perplexing confrontations.

JANIS SEQUOIA (9) is a slightly autistic girl with the compulsive habit of scratching and cutting anything she gets her hands on. This habit started in her early childhood when she scratched into the wall above her bed and light broke through “from the other side.” She believed that she could open a passageway to her mother, who died shortly after she was born. Knives and any sharp instruments must be kept away from her. She loves the artist Lucio Fontana with his sliced canvasses. Her teachers and therapists are baffled. From one day to another this behavior stops and Janis gets good grades in school.

Her father rewards her with a trip to Hawaii. They stay at a small house near the cliffs over the ocean. One morning Janis leaves the house unnoticed by her father and runs happily after a big blue monarch, a typical butterfly in Hawaii. She jumps over the cliffs and falls through a time crack into into the arms of a man, the DREAMER of LEMURIA whose name is SHOMAN.
SHOMAN shows her around a bit in LEMURIA, the legendary paradise with its blissful people, who receive Janis into their hearts and homes. Finally, he brings her back to her world, giving her a crystal that she can use to open the portal to Lemuria any time she wishes. She hides the crystal at the trunk of a huge tree.

For many years afterwards, she forgets all about her experiences and the crystal.

20 years later, Janis is now a reputable surgeon. Her boyfriend Marc takes her on a trip to Hawaii to celebrate her 29th birthday. In the hotel room when she cuts into the birthday cake, light emanates out of the cut and she hears the music of Lemuria. She suddenly remembers the vacation with her father. Filled with an insatiable longing, she drives to the place where she jumped 20 years ago. She recognizes the tree, but does not find the crystal. She is so desperate, she runs again towards the rim, jumps over the cliff and falls again into the arms of Shoman, the dreamer.

Now, she stays some time in this glorious land. She becomes Shoman’s apprentice and travels the entire continent, also visiting the magical crystal cities.

When the time of her return arrives, Janis asks the dreamer to come with her to her world. Shoman does not fulfill her wish. But he asks her to wait for him. He will come at the right time. She returns to Marc who is still anxious to celebrate her birthday with him. He is extremely baffled by her changed look and behavior. For him, it was just a couple of hours since she was gone.
Janis is not able tho deal with him nor with the regular world anymore. They end up in a big fight and return to Los Angeles the same day. There they decide to separate for good.

Shoman fulfills his promise. A couple of months later, he goes through the time crack and possesses the body of a member of a motorcycle gang, who happens to accidentally drive along the bluff. During his adventure, he gets to Los Angeles and joins a rocker club.

When he saves a young boy, who was hit by a truck, he meets Janis in the ambulance. When she conducts surgery on the boy, light comes out of the cut. She recognizes the dreamer and takes him to her home. The love between the master and the apprentice turns into the love between a man and a woman.

Shoman can't hide the Lemurian sage he is. He heals people openly and bluntly says what he has to say. He uncovers crime and corruption. Soon the media becomes aware of him. After he openly attacks a well known and respected billionaire and accuses him of evil deeds, the Dreamer is hunted by contract killers. But his gang protects him.

The story culminates when he unties a terminally ill teenager from his tubes in Intensive Care to spare him excruciating pain and helps him die peacefully. He gets arrested and is accused of murder but receives the verdict not guilty after a passionate self-defense. When Janis and Shoman leave the courthouse, hired snipers try to kill them both. It seems to be successful. But Shoman's abilities and powers reach beyond death.
